My name is Emmanuelle Maïsetti.
I work within a structured astrological tradition built around judgment — the kind kept alive today mainly in the English-speaking world.
Horary astrology came into my life as a simple curiosity. It has become the most significant intellectual encounter of my journey.
I started out as a craftswoman — a conservator of old books. It was demanding, precise, deeply satisfying work. I loved the gesture, the material, the traces history leaves on a binding.
Working with my hands taught me to observe, to adjust, and to keep asking why things work — or why they don't.
I couldn't really tell you how astrology entered my life; it began as one curiosity among others. The one thing I can say is that I was looking for answers to questions my craft, however absorbing, couldn't resolve.
After a few years of study, I understood there isn't one astrology, but several — astrologies that share a language while resting on entirely different foundations and aiming at entirely different ends.
Everything fell into place when I discovered the tradition kept alive today mainly in the English-speaking world. There I found a solid, logical framework — one that lets you think clearly without getting lost in symbolic loops, and build a reasoning that's sober and effective.
Looking back, it's a fitting echo of my old craft: carrying forward the work of those who came before, and trying — as clear-sightedly as possible — to bring it into our century.
With horary astrology, inherited from William Lilly and passed down today by John Frawley (Horary Apprenticeship), I found a discipline that can answer real questions with judgments that are precise and verifiable. A clean yes or no, no room for "in my opinion," no endless interpretations where everything becomes possible and therefore nothing means anything. Horary astrology shows things as they are, not as we'd like them to be — and that is profoundly bracing.
John Frawley was a demanding teacher of exceptional clarity. I had the good fortune to study under his Horary Apprenticeship programme, from which I earned certification. His lucid irreverence, paired with genuinely effective teaching, taught me the value of simplicity and common sense: follow the facts, set projections aside, never mistake what you observe for what you imagine. His work has been a decisive intellectual influence on me, and I remain deeply grateful for what he passed on.
I care about a practice that keeps facts and impressions distinct. Horary astrology isn't an exercise in personal expression; it requires observing, reasoning, and judging strictly from what is actually present in the chart.
This site is my way of sharing that practice — showing the reasoning behind it, the successes as well as the mistakes — and of contributing, in my own small way, to making a tradition still largely unknown in the French-speaking world better known.
